LQ-DT
Drop-through Rotary Valve
Straight-through geometry for high-capacity discharge of granules with minimal shear.
LQ-SR · Product
General-purpose airlock for gravity discharge of free-flowing powders and granules.
The standard rotary airlock valve is the workhorse of powder handling: a multi-vane rotor turns inside a close-clearance housing to discharge bulk solids from a hopper or cyclone while limiting air leakage between two pressure zones. It is the specification we build most often for dust collectors, silos, screw conveyors and gravity-fed process lines where the material is free-flowing and moderately abrasive.
Fabricated or cast housing with machined rotor bore, bolted top and bottom flanges, and an inspection cover for rotor access.
8-vane open or closed rotor, machined to the specified tip clearance; replaceable wear strips available on abrasive duties.
Through shaft in 40Cr or stainless, outboard bearings in a greased housing, isolated from the material stream by a packing or lip seal.
Adjustable gland packing as standard; mechanical seals, air-purge seals or shaft air-purge for fine powders and vacuum duty on request.
Geared motor direct-coupled to the shaft, or chain and sprocket drive where a compact footprint is required.

Values shown are typical for this product family. Final dimensions, materials and performance are confirmed on the approved drawing before production.
Every valve in this range can be built to your drawing: face-to-face length, flange pattern, rotor profile, material grade and drive arrangement. Send your drawing and we will quote against it.
Yes. Send the drawing, a dimensional sketch or the original nameplate data and we will build a drop-in replacement with the same face-to-face length and flange pattern.
Open rotors handle free-flowing, low-moisture materials and are easier to clean. Closed rotors give better volumetric efficiency and are preferred for fine powders, vacuum duty and materials that tend to pack into the pockets.
Leakage depends on tip clearance, rotor speed, differential pressure and particle size. We set clearance against your allowable air loss and confirm the figure on the approved drawing rather than quoting a single generic number.
